Ideal for wastewater treatment, WaterTreats Nitrifying Bacteria is the quickest and easiest way to reduce ammonia levels in your water. The super-concentrated solution is made up of microbial cultures (including nitrosomonas, nitrospira, nitrobacter and heterotrophic nitrifiers at the highest concentrations in the industry) as well as carrying agents that boost the growth and reproduction of nitrifying bacteria. Nitrifying bacteria are any kind of aerobic bacteria that use inorganic nitrogen compounds as an energy source. An essential part of the nitrogen cycle, nitrifying bacteria convert ammonia to nitrate compounds through a two-step process called nitrification.This nitrification process involves:
Step 1: Nitrifying bacteria carry out aerobic oxidation of ammonium (NH4+) or ammonia (NH3), converting these to nitrite (NO2−).
Step 2: Nitrite-oxidising bacteria then oxidise nitrites to nitrates (NO3−). Nitrates are non-toxic to plants; in fact, plants can break these compounds down further.
The reason nitrifying bacteria can perform nitrification is because they carry several special enzymes, including ammonia monooxygenase (which oxidises ammonia to hydroxylamine), hydroxylamine oxidoreductase (which oxidises hydroxylamine to nitric oxide), and nitrite oxidoreductase (which oxidises nitrite to nitrate).
Application
The following dose rates are guidelines that may need to be increased or decreased according to your individual conditions. Results will depend on factors such as ammonia levels, water temperature, and water movement (circulated, aerated water provides best results).It’s recommended you treat your water, monitor the results, and adjust your dose rate based on these results.
How to apply
Dilute with 10-20L of dam/lagoon water. Pour around various sections of the dam/lagoon, or close to aerators/fountains if present. In wastewater treatment plants, pour/dose at the head of the plant.Dosage
As a basic starter, we suggest a dose rate of approximately 10mL of Nitrifying Bacteria solution per 1,000L of water. This said, there are many variables to consider, please contact us for a recommended dose based on your circumstances.Note: This solution contains live cultures so it must be store in a refrigerator.

Return
Returns
Goods purchased from Love My Dam are unable to be returned without first reaching out to us and requesting a return. Unfortunately, returns cannot be made for pond and dam liners. No returns can be accepted unless a copy of the purchase invoice is enclosed with the returned item/s. Along with the goods and invoice, please include a list of the goods to be returned, including the product description, quantity, date of return and the customer’s name and address. The items must be returned in the original packaging. Freight charges for returns must be paid by the customer. The customer is responsible for any damage incurred during return shipment. We are only able to issue a credit note after the goods have been successfully returned.
Change of Mind
A request to return goods (except pond and dam liners) because of a change of mind must be made within 7 days of delivery, unless otherwise agreed. Freight charges must be paid by the customer for all change of mind returns.
Cancellation
No cancellation or partial cancellation of an order by the customer can be accepted by Love My Dam unless first consented in writing. Sometimes a cancellation charge will need to be paid by the customer. Cancellations cannot be accepted on goods that are not regular stock which are in the process of manufacture or ready for shipment.
Complaints
All complaints, claims, or notification of lost goods, incomplete goods, damaged goods, or goods that do not comply with your purchase order must be submitted to us in writing within 48 hours of the date of delivery. The exception is pond and dam liners which must be submitted to us immediately on receipt of the products. Otherwise, we will consider you to have accepted the items.
