Blue Green Algae Attack Bundle (Small)— 3 Pack BGA Test Kit, 5L Cupricide Algaecide, 5L Biostim Accelerator
Your All-in-One Solution for Rapid Blue-Green Algae Management
Combat the harmful effects of blue-green algae in your pond, dam, or lake with our comprehensive Blue-Green Algae Attack Bundle. This carefully curated kit provides you with the essential tools to detect, treat, and prevent algae blooms, ensuring a healthier aquatic environment.
What's Included:
Blue-Green Algae Test Kits (x3)
-
Purpose: Quickly and accurately detect the presence of blue-green algae toxins.
-
Features: Each kit offers rapid results, allowing you to assess water safety in just minutes.
-
Ideal For: Testing water before and/or after treatment to check for toxins.
Cupricide Algaecide (5L)
- Purpose: Effectively control and eliminate blue-green algae blooms.
- Features: A potent algaecide that targets and suppresses algae growth, restoring water clarity.
- Ideal For: Small water bodies where immediate algae control is necessary.
Biostim Accelerator (5L)
-
Purpose: Enhance the efficacy of algaecides, aka reduce how much chemical you need to you, and decompose the dead organic matter.
-
Features: A natural biocatalyst that accelerates the breakdown of algae and organic sludge, preventing it becoming fertiliser for next season's weeds
- Ideal For: Restoring "good" bacteria numbers impacted by chemical and cleaning up dead blue-green algae.
Why this approach works better than algaecide-only
-
You address the emergency (blue-green algae bloom) with the algaecide, and you also manage the aftermath with the Biostim Accelerator so the decaying algae don’t just settle as sludge and fertilise the next bloom.
-
By combining chemical and biological elements you reduce the risk of recurring blooms. Without probiotics, you enter a slippery slide: every year you get more and more invasive, and chemical-tolerant algae.
-
The test kits can be used to see if you have blue-green algae, but where they are more useful, is testing the water post treatment to see if the water still has toxins in it.
Key benefits at a glance
-
Rapid mitigation of blue-green algae risk.
-
Better penetration and reduced chemical requirements thanks to Biostim Accelerator.
-
Reduced formation of nutrient-rich sludge that fuels future blooms.
-
Safer, clearer water for wildlife, stock and recreational use.
-
Built for Australian conditions — understanding warm climates, nutrient loads and lifestyle water-bodies.
Application / Instructions
-
Test first (Optional) — You can choose to use a BGA Test Kit to confirm presence/level of blue-green algae. If you're pretty sure you know it's blue-green algae, you don't have to use a test kit.
-
Apply Cupricide Algaecide (5L) + Biostim Accelerator (5L) simultaneously — follow label instructions. The Biostim Accelerator helps penetration and sets up beneficial bacteria to start digesting the dying algae.
-
Monitor clarity and debris — As algae die, floating or decaying material should be removed where possible (skim or net).
-
Testing for Toxins Post-Treatment — Use the test kit post treatment when the blue-green algae has visibly left. This will confirm if there are toxins in the water. Toxins can remain in the water for several days after the blue-green algae has visibly cleared. Wait until you get a clear toxin-free test before opening the water up to livestock and irrigation.
FAQs
Q: Why include a test kit?
A: The kit can help you confirm if what you have is really blue-green algae. More importantly though, it can be used post-treatment to check if all the toxins have left the water. Because, even after blue-green algae has gone, toxins can remain.
Q: When will I see results?
A: Visible improvements often occur quickly after algaecide application, but full system recovery (reduced nutrients, fewer sludge resources for next season) takes weeks and depends on nutrient input and waterbody size.
Q: Is it safe for fish, stock and wildlife?
A: When used by the label instructions, yes. Always check for stock-water restrictions with copper-based algaecides. The bundle’s biological component helps improve overall ecosystem health.
Q: What if the bloom recurs next season?
A: Recurrence usually means nutrient loading is ongoing and biological health is inadequate. We would recommend aeration and monthly application of Biostim.
