What is a Matala Self-Weighted Hose?
A Matala self-weighted air hose is a heavy-duty, self-sinking hose designed to sink to the bottom of your lake, dam or pond without the need for additional weights. How To Install Your Matala Self-Weighted Hose
Installation

Unravel the hose. Cut and measure the hose to your desired length if required.

Attach one end to the diffuser you have purchased. Many Matala products, such as the Matala 9” Fine Air Bubble Diffuser Disc, come with a clamp and other air hose fittings to help connect the hose to the diffuser.

Attach the other end of the hose to the air compressor which will be located at the water’s edge.

Allow the hose to drop into the water. You should try to ensure that the route from compressor to diffuser is as clean as possible with minimal loops.

FAQs
Do the dimensions of a pond hose make a difference?
The inner diameter of a pond hose differs to allow for wide differences in the volume of air that is sent through to the diffuser. A smaller diameter causes more friction loss and is more suited to smaller ponds and water bodies. Wider diameters allow for much greater volumes of air, making them the ideal choice for large, deep ponds and dams.
How do I select the right length of hose?
You’ll need to know your pond dimensions prior to making a purchase. As a self-weighted hose, it needs to also have the necessary slack to comfortably sink to the bottom. If you select a hose that is too short, it could end up being suspended in the water which will put pressure around the attachment areas to the compressor and diffusers.
Can I select a custom hose length?

Do you provide free shipping?
Yes - we provide free shipping to around 95% of Australian locations. There are some remote rural and island postcodes where we may need to apply additional shipping costs prior to dispatch. In these instances, we will notify you prior to dispatching.

Returns
Goods purchased from Love My Dam are unable to be returned without first reaching out to us and requesting a return. Unfortunately, returns cannot be made for pond and dam liners. No returns can be accepted unless a copy of the purchase invoice is enclosed with the returned item/s. Along with the goods and invoice, please include a list of the goods to be returned, including the product description, quantity, date of return and the customer’s name and address. The items must be returned in the original packaging. Freight charges for returns must be paid by the customer. The customer is responsible for any damage incurred during return shipment. We are only able to issue a credit note after the goods have been successfully returned.
Change of Mind
A request to return goods (except pond and dam liners) because of a change of mind must be made within 7 days of delivery, unless otherwise agreed. Freight charges must be paid by the customer for all change of mind returns.
Cancellation
No cancellation or partial cancellation of an order by the customer can be accepted by Love My Dam unless first consented in writing. Sometimes a cancellation charge will need to be paid by the customer. Cancellations cannot be accepted on goods that are not regular stock which are in the process of manufacture or ready for shipment.
Complaints
All complaints, claims, or notification of lost goods, incomplete goods, damaged goods, or goods that do not comply with your purchase order must be submitted to us in writing within 48 hours of the date of delivery. The exception is pond and dam liners which must be submitted to us immediately on receipt of the products. Otherwise, we will consider you to have accepted the items.
