Hakko 25L Diaphragm Kit (2 Piece Set)

Exact fit for Hakko 25L and 25LP models

What is a Hakko 25L Diaphragm Kit?

The Hakko 25L diaphragm kit is a key piece of equipment made for the Hakko air compressor range. It is a premium, OEM-compatible component built from high-quality materials designed to withstand the constant rigours of modern aeration systems.

Why a Hakko 25L Diaphragm Kit Is Important

When a compressor shows signs of reduced air output, increased noise, or overheating, the diaphragm is often the culprit. The diaphragm acts as the key mechanism to compress the air within a unit to help increase the pressure. Without a functioning diaphragm, the entire aeration system can become inefficient, which increases the risk to your fish health as well as potential algal blooms.

Benefits of Hakko 25L Diaphragm Pump Kits

Easy Installation

Hakko diaphragm kits are very easy to uninstall and reinstall. All you need is a medium screwdriver and a pair of pliers.

A Reputable Brand

Hakko is a highly-respected brand that has been a mainstay in the pump and aeration sector for many years now, guaranteeing quality.

Highly Durable

Hakko diaphragm kits are designed to last a long time, reducing the need for frequent maintenance and replacement costs.

Extended Pump Life

With a reliable diaphragm in place, you can rest assured that your pump will not be overworked and will continue to function for many years.

How To Uninstall and Reinstall Your Hakko Diaphragm Kit

  1. Remove the plastic diaphragm casing from the motor body. Unscrew the central nut and remove the old diaphragm.

  2. Place the new diaphragm onto the metal vibrating rod, ensuring that the alignment tabs are correct and in place.

  3. Reinsert and tighten the four screws and reconnect the L-Tube.

  4. Screw the internal cover back over the motor.

Tip: Even if only one side looks damaged, it is best to replace both diaphragms at the same time so that the back-pressure remains balanced.

FAQs

How can I tell when I need to replace my diaphragm kits?

If your pump has started to make unfamiliar noises, it could indicate that the diaphragm has shredded and needs replacing. You will also notice a visible change in air outputs on the surface as there is no longer the necessary levels of air being pumped down to the diffusers. If your compressor is overheating, this is also a typical sign of torn diaphragms.

How often should I replace the diaphragms?

Even if your compressor is showing no obvious signs that the diaphragms are damaged, we still recommend changing your diaphragms every 12-18 months to ensure you’re proactively maintaining consistent levels of aeration output.

Why are my diaphragms breaking frequently?

If your replacement diaphragms are showing signs of failure much more quickly than their expected life cycle would suggest, there might be other issues to address within your wider aeration system. Check your air stations to ensure there are no blockages of biofilm buildup.

Do I need to lubricate new diaphragms?

No. Hakko pumps do not require oil at any point. Adding oil or grease will degrade the rubber very quickly and will risk introducing harmful chemicals into your water system.
